Sample Sale Etiquette:

Things can get a bit heated when your dream dress is on the line. These rules will help everyone play nice with one another!

1. First come, first serve. Brides first in line will have access to change rooms first.
2. Each bride will be allowed 45 minutes in a changing room.
3. Only 3 dresses are allowed in a changing room at one time (you can take another once you put one back.)
4. All brides will have access to cocktail dresses, jewelry and accessories as soon as the doors open at 12:00.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Q. I really want to be one of the first ones in. What time should I line up?
A. We are anticipating a lot of brides this year. In other years, brides have lined up as early as 10:00 am for a 12:00 pm start. Not one with a lot of patience? You will know what is right for you!

Q. How will the line-up work? Should I bring a bodyguard or perhaps a posse of bridesmaids?
A. We will serve 6 brides at one time, in the order of the door line-up. 3 brides will have a fitting room (with a 45 minute time limit); the other 3 brides will be allowed to browse gowns while they wait for the next available room.

Q. What if I know exactly which dress I want? Do I have to wait?
A. You will not need to wait for a changing room, but you will need to be one of the 3 brides waiting for a room (read more above).

Q.How much of a discount will be offered?
A. All gowns will be at least 30% off and up to 80% off. There will be gowns as low as $700. Veils, cocktail dresses, & select jewelry will also be up to 80% off.

Q.What sizes are the sample gowns?
A. Sample gowns will range in size from 6 - 12. (It is important to know that bridal sizing is quite a bit smaller than everyday clothing sizes. For example: a size 10 in bridal is equivalent to a size 6 or Medium in everyday clothing.)

Q. Can sample dresses be tailored to a size 0 or 2?
A. Nearly all dresses can be tailored to a smaller size, even a 2 or 0. The amount (and cost) of alteration involved will vary by style.

Q. Do I have to have my alterations done by Bisou?
A. We do have a very talented in-house seamstress who would be happy to do your alterations, but you are not required to have the gown fitted at Bisou.

Q. How can I know how much my alterations will cost?
A. We are will offer a firm quote for our alteration services on the day of the sale. A firm quote give a max price that we promise not to exceed. (Provided the work agreed to does not change.)

Q. What condition are the sample gowns in?
A. Sample gowns vary in condition from excellent to fair. The condition of the gowns will be reflected in the markdown price.

Q. Do all sample gowns require dry-cleaning?
A. No. Many of the gowns are in excellent condition and will not require dry-cleaning. The alteration process (cutting the hem, etc.) can also reduce the need for dry-cleaning for gowns in fair condition.

Q. Who pays for dry-cleaning?
A. Dry-cleaning is an additional expense that is not covered by Bisou. On average, dry-cleaning estimates are often between $150-$250.

Q. How can I know which dresses will be in the sale?
A. Feel free to book an appointment this week by calling 604.696.0880. We will gladly let you know which dresses will be in the sale. We will not be revealing discount levels until the day of the sale, but all dresses will be at least 30% off.

Can't make it into the shop? We are also revealing one dress a day on our Facebook page! View the album here

Q. I am interested in only one dress. How can I know if it is in the sale?
A. To find out if a dress you've already fallen in love with will be in our sample sale, you can give us a call at 604.696.0880 or send an email to

Q. How does payment for a sample gown work?
A. Full payment is due when a sample gown is purchased. (You will be taking the dress with you that day!) If we will be doing your alterations, all alteration costs are paid once alterations are complete. (Other payment options will be considered on a case by case basis.)

Designer Profile: Augusta Jones

Bisou Bridal is excited to introduce you to the newest collection in store; Augusta Jones.

Designers: Charlotte and June Leung

Launched in 1999 by British designer Charlotte Leung, the line was first created for Leung’s own shop and was meant to offer a collection of gowns that had not only beautiful style, but enough range to flatter every shape, and an affordable price tag. Like many other designers, Leung was inspired to begin her line when she found such attributes lacking within the industry.

Charlotte teamed up with her stepmother, June Leung; an already established award-winning designer. Many of the brooches, belts and crystal details found within the collection are inspired by June’s passion for art deco and period piece jewelry.

Take a peek at Augusta Jones featured on 'The Knot TV'

Charlotte and June find their inspiration traveling the world and visiting beautiful cities steeped in history, which they then transform into beautiful gowns for every bride.

In 2003, the collection was launched in North America to rave reviews. The line is loved by so many brides because of its vast range of styles.

Augusta Jones offers gowns perfect for a simple beach wedding with just you and your fiancé or for an elaborate affair in a gorgeous ballroom. Each dress is uniquely special with hand-cut rolled flowers, a variety of belts in any colour adorned in beading, and beautifully draped skirts.
